 The \: least \: number \: which \: when \: divided \: by \: 14, 42 \: and \: 28 \: leaves \\remainder \: 3 \: in \: each \: case

 = L.C.M ( 14 , 42 , 28 ) + remainder

Finding L.C.M ( 14,42,28) :

2 | 14 , 42,28

___________

7 | 7 , 21 , 14

___________

*** 1 , 3, 2

LCM ( 14, 42, 28 )

= 2×7×1×3×2

= 84

******************************

= 84 + 3 \\= 87

Therefore.,

 \red{ Required \: least\: number } \green { = 87 }
