Given :

Lower quartile (Q₁) = 20

Upper quartile (Q₂) = 100

To Find :

Quartile Deviation for the data

Solution :

If Q₁ is the lower quartile and Q₂ is the upper quartile for the given data set, then its quartile deviation can be calculated using the following formula -

    Quartile Deviation  =  \frac{Q_2 - Q_1}{2}

Here, Q₂ = 100 and Q₁ = 20

∴ Quartile Deviation  = \frac{100 - 20}{2}

                                   =  \frac{80}{2}

                                   =  40

Therefore, the quartile deviation for the data is 40.

Hence, option (c) is correct.
