➤ Answer :-

Number of students going to picnic :-

 \longmapsto \sf \: \frac{2}{5} \: of \: 40 \\

 \longmapsto \sf \: \frac{2}{5} \times 40 \\

 \longmapsto \sf \cancel \frac{80}{5} = \frac{16}{1} = 16 \\

Now,

Number of students not going to picnic :-

Total students - Number of students going to picnic

\longmapsto\sf\:40 - 16

\longmapsto\sf\:24 \: \: students

\Huge\therefore24 students are not going to picnic.
