Epidermis is the outermost covering in plant. It protects plant from injuries,damage and invasion of fungi.In Roots o,it increases the surface area to absorb more water and minerals from the soil.In dry areas .,it release a waxy substance called cutin, which prevent water loss., protection from injury ,damage and invasion from fungi. Layers of cutin is called cuticle
