distance between the stations = 200 km

Let the speed of one train be x km/h

so, the speed of the other train is (x+5) km/hr

distance covered by first train in 2 hours = 2x km

distance covered by second train in 2 hours =

2(x+5) km = 2x + 10 km

so, according to the question

2x + 2x + 10 + 50 = 200

4x + 60 = 200

4x = 200 - 60

4x = 140

x =  \frac{140}{4}

x = 35

so, the speeds of the trains are 35 km/hr and

40 km/hr
