DNA cloning.
Explanation:
- DNA cloning is a technique that is used for making identical copies of a piece of DNA , or a gene .
- There are following steps in DNA cloning -
- In cloning of a piece of DNA the target gene is inserted into a vector called plasmid.
- This vector is introduced into the bacterial cell by transformation and bacteria carrying plasmid are selected using antibiotics .
- Bacteria with the suitable plasmid is allowed to divide to make more DNA , or expression of gene for desired protein.
- Restriction endonuclease acts as molecular scissors and help in cutting DNA at specific locations or site.
