• Aurangzeb’s policies made enemies of the Rajputs, Sikhs, Jats and the Marathas.
• His frequent wars depleted the treasury.
•  The raids by Nadir Shah, and repeated invasions of Ahmad Shah Abdali, resulted in further weakening of the empire.
