Solid have fixed shape and volume becoz the solid particles are held together tightly due to intermolecular force.
Due to high pressure on water and low pressure on land the air is denser at sea level.
Becoz of latent heat of vapouratization their is decreased in volume of ice on melting.

a) Because particles of matter in solid are bound to each other. They are tightly packed, have less cellular spaces between them. This is what makes solid have found shape and fixed volume.
c) because when ice melts the area of water particles increases . As we know area and volume are inversely proportional to each other, therefore it decreases it's volume
