Given : 22g of water at 30 degrees Celsius is mixed with an equal amount of water at 60 degrees Celsius

To Find : the resultant temperature of the mixture

Solution:

22g of water at 30°C

22g of water at 60°C

As Equal amount of water

Temperature will be transferred from 60°C to 30°C until Equilibrium is achieved

=> 60  - T  = 30 + T   ( Equilibrium temperatures)

=>  30 = 2T

=> 15 = T

60  - T  = 60 - 15 = 45°C

30 + T  = 30 + 15 = 45°C

the resultant temperature of the mixture  45°C
