Explanation

a) This sentence was a statement. When we change the narration of a simple statement, we do the following changes in the given sentence:

1. We connect reporting verb clause with quoted speech (direct speech) using 'that'

2. We change the tense of the quoted speech into the past tense.

3. We change the pronouns according to the subject and object.

b) This was a Helping-Verb Interrogative Case. While reporting such cases we apply the following rules:

1. Use conjunction 'if' or 'whether' to join the reporting verb with the speech to be reported.

2. Convert the interrogative into statement.

3. Change the pronouns and tenses as per the reported speech rules.

c) Direct speech beginning with the word ‘let’ are very tricky. 'Let' in the sentences has different meanings. So, the reporting verb ‘said to’ is changed according to the idea conveyed by ‘Let’. The reporting verb in indirect speech can be changed into ‘Proposed’, ‘Suggested’, ‘Requested’, ‘Ordered’, ‘Wished’, ‘Told’, etc.
