Given : n = 50 ,  σₓ = 4.5  , σy = 3.5   ∑dxdy = 420

To Find :  coefficient of correlation

A. 0.5333

B. 0.586

C. 0.653

D. 0.546

Solution:

coefficient of correlation  =  ∑dxdy  / ( n  σₓ . σy)

=> coefficient of correlation  =  420 / ( 50 * 4.5 * 3.5)

=> coefficient of correlation  =  420 / ( 225 * 3.5)

=> coefficient of correlation  =  120 / ( 225 )

=> coefficient of correlation  = 24 / ( 45 )

=> coefficient of correlation  = 8 / (15 )

=> coefficient of correlation  =0.533

option A is correct
