and. 3x + 7 = 7x + 5 ------(2)

from eq. (2)

3x + 7 = 7x + 5

7 - 5 = 7x - 3x

2 = 4x

x = 2/4

x = 1/2

put x in eq. 1

3x + 7 = x² + p

3(1/2) + 7 = (1/2)² + p

3/2 + 7 = 1/4 + p

3/2 + 7 -1/4 = p

(6 + 28 - 1)/4 = p. (taking LCM)

p = 33/4
