Q. If a car has a constant acceleration of 4 m/s2, starting from rest, how far has it traveled after 5 seconds?

Answer:-

S = 50 m (option - A)

Given:-

u = 0m/s

a = 4m/s²

T = 5s

To find:-

The distance travelled in 5s.

Solution:-

Since, the acceleration of body is constant so ,we can use the equation of motion.

\boxed{\sf{S = ut + \dfrac{1}{2}at^2}}

Now, put the given value

S = 0 \times 5 + \dfrac{1}{2}4.(5)^2

S = 0 + \dfrac {1}{2}\times4\times25

S = \dfrac{1}{2}\times4\times25

S=2 \times 25

S = 50 m

hence,distance travelled by car in 5s is 50 m

Note:- You can also calculate distance by finding its final velocity (v) .
