Let the numerator be 'x'.

hence, fraction =

 \frac{x}{x + 4 }

therefore,

 \frac{x + 11}{x + 4 - 1}  =  \frac{7}{3 }

 \frac{x + 11}{x + 3}  =  \frac{7}{3}

3(x + 11) = 7(x + 3)

3x + 33 = 7x + 21

4x = 12

x = 3

therefore,

fraction \:  =  \frac{3}{7}
