The concentration of the solution will be calculated in terms of molality. Molality is given by no. of moles of solute per kg of solvent.

Given. 1)mass of sugar solution(syrup)=214.2g

2)mass of solute(sugar) =34.2g

we know that molecular wt of sugar= 342g

no. of moles of sugar in solution is =34.2/342 = 0.1

Molality = no.of moles of solute/given wt of solution x 1000 (we have to calculate in 1kg =1000g solvent)

= 0.1/214.2 x 1000 = 0.47molal solution.
