According to question

x2 + y2= 208

let the larger no. be x and smaller no. be y

x2 = 18y

from both equations we get,

18y + y2 = 208

y2 + 18y - 208 = 0

by splitting the middle term,

y2 + 26y - 8y -208 = 0

y(y + 26) -8 (y + 26) = 0

(y + 26) (y - 8) = 0

therefore, y + 26 =0

and y-8 =0

we get ,

y = 8 and y = -26
