Answer:

Hey dear friend here's ur answer :-)

23x − 29y = 98    ....(1)

29x − 23y = 110     ...(2)

Adding (1) and (2), we get

52x − 52y = 208

52 (x-y) =208

⇒x − y = 4     .....(3)

Subtracting (2) from (1), we get

−6x − 6y = −12

⇒x + y = 2      ....(4)

adding (3) and (4), we get

2x = 6

⇒x = 3

Now, from (4), we get

y = −1

Hence, x=3 and y= -1..

hope it helps :-)

#thank you

\bf{\underline{Given}}:-

  • 23x - 29y = 98
  • 29x - 23y = 110

To find :-

  • value of x and y

Solution :-

  • 23x - 29y = 98 .............................(i)

  • 29x - 23y = 110 ............................(ii)

Adding eq (i) and (ii),

(23x - 29y) + (29x - 23y) = 98 + 110

23x + 29x - 29y - 23y = 112

52x - 52y = 112

52(x - y) = 112

x - y = 112/52

x - y = 4 ............................................(iii)

Subtracting eq (i) from (ii),

(29x - 23y) - (23x - 29y) = 110 - 98

29x - 23x - 23y + 29y = 12

6x + 6y = 12

6(x + y) = 12

x + y = 12/6

x + y = 2 ....................................(iv)

Adding eq (iii) and eq (iv),

(x - y) + (x + y) = 4 + 2

x + x - y + y = 6

2x = 6

x = 6/2

x = 3

Now,

Putting the value of x in eq (iv),

x + y = 2

3 + y = 2

y = 2 - 3

y = -1

Hence,the value of x will be 3 and value of y will be - 1.
