24

Answer:

(i) composition of nuclei

24/12 mg

Protons = atomic number=12

neutrons = mass num- atomic num

= 24-12

= 12

26/12 mg

protons = 12

neutrons =26-12

= 14

ii) electronic configurations

=1s^2 2s^2 2p^6 3s^2

electronic Configuration of both the Isotops of mg is same as they have same num of electrons since their atomic num is equal.

iii) The two isotops of mg have diff.mass number because they have diff number of neutrons
