Make cylinder by folding each side

To Find :  Which one has more Curved surface area  , volume

Solution:

paper 24 cm * 42 cm

24 cm is height and 42 cm is circumference of base

2πr  = 42

h = 24 cm

Curved surface area  =2πrh  = 42 * 24  cm²

2πr  = 42

=> 2(π)r = 42

=> r = 21/π

Volume = πr²h

=π( 21/π)²24

= 10584/π cm³

paper 24 cm * 42 cm

42 cm is height and 24 cm is circumference of base

2πr  = 24

h = 42 cm

Curved surface area  =2πrh  = 24 *42  cm²

Curved surface area of both is same  

2πr  = 24

= r = 12/π

Volume = πr²h

= π( 12/π)²42

=   6048/π  cm³

10584/π   > 6048/π

Volume of this case is less
