24.A cylinder with movable piston is filled with H2 gas
at 27°C that occupies 250 ml. If maximum capacity of
the cylinder is 1 litre, what is the highest temperature to
which the cylinder can be heated at constant pressure
without having the piston to come out.

Answer:

It is given that pressure is constant so according to Charles law volume will be directly proportional to temperature.

                                   V1 / V2  =  T1 /  T2

here, V1=250mL = 0.25L

        V2=1L

        T1=27+273 K

        T2=?

T2=(T1V2 )/V1

T2=(300*1)/0.25

T2 =1200K  or 927o C
