Suppose if water comes in x litres/sec so in lock leak condition the water will fill in 9hrs so total volume of the cistern is 9x. But due to leak it fills in 10 hrs therefore the leaked water is 10x-9x=x so leaking rate =total leak/time =

=x/10. If the cistern is full then time taken to be emptied =total volume of cistern/leak rate
