the ground level, how long will it take to reach -350 m?​

speed: 6m/min

starting point is 10 m above the ground

as it has to go 10 m downwards we will mark it as -10 m

he has to reach  a point at -350 m

total distance to be covered is     -350+(-10)

= -350 - 10

= -360

time = distance/speed

= -360/6

= 60 minutes

though the answer would be - 60 minutes

but as time can never be in negatives

we will denote it as  60 minutes

60 minutes = 1 hour

  • the shaft will take 1 hour to cover the whole distance
