Let thickness of each coin be x cm

So, thickness of the whole stack = 24x cm

As per the half-metre scale , the total thickness is 4.8 cm

 =  >  \:  \: x =  \dfrac{4.8}{24}

 =  >  \:  \: x =  0.2 \: cm

 =  >  \:  \: x =  2 \: mm

Hence the thickness of each coin is 2 mm.
