24. Find the number of bricks to be laid in a square path of
side 20 m, if the length and breadth of each brick is
4 m and 2 m respectively.

Solution:

  • The area of the path is
  • = 20² square m
  • = 400 square m

  • Area of each brick is
  • = 4 × 2 square m
  • = 8 square m

  • So the required number of bricks is
  • = area of the path / area of each brick
  • = 400 / 8
  • = 50

Answer: number of bricks required is 50.
