we know that

h2 + cl2 ----- 2hcl

so, 1 mole of h2 reacts with 1 mole of cl2 to give 2 mole of hcl

now,

at stp volume of any 1 mole gas = 22.4 l

so there is one mole of cl2

moles of h2 will be greater than one because volume is greater than 22.4 L

so cl2 is the limiting reagent.

so one mole of cl2 will react with only one mole of h2 to give 2 mole of hcl as per above equation

so 2 mole of hcl will be formed.

now, 1 mol has 22.4 L of volume at stp

so 2 mol will have:

22.4 *2 L = 44.8 L
