Let son's present age = x

Jack's present age = 3x

After 12 years,

Son's age = x+12

Jack's age = 3x+12

ATQ, 3x+12 = 2(x+12)

3x+12 = 2x+24

3x-2x = 24-12

x = 12

Son's present age = 12 years

Jack's present age = 3×12 = 36 years
