24. The sum of the digits of a two digit number is 12. If the new number formed
by reversing the digits is greater than the original number by 54, find the
original number.

Answer:

let two digit number be xy

x is tens place digit and y is ones place digit

ATQ

their sum = 12

x + y = 12 ....(1)

&

10x + y + 54 = 10y + x

9x - 9y = -54

x - y = - 6 ....(2)

now add ...(1) and ...(2)

we get

2x = 6

x = 3

put this in any of the equation

we get

y = 9

so the required number is 39
