Given :-

• Two numbers are in the ratio 5 : 3

• They differ by 18

Solution :-

Here,

Two numbers are given which is in ratio 5:3

The difference between these two numbers are 18

Now,

Let the ratios be 5x and 3x

According to the question,

5x - 3x = 18

2x = 18

x = 18/2

x = 9

Thus, The value of x = 9

Therefore,

The first number = 5 * 9 = 45

The second number = 3 * 9 = 27 .

  • Two numbers are in ratio 5:3.

  • Both number differ by 18.

  • The number obtained .

\sf{\large{\underline{\orange{Solution :-}}}}

Let the numbers in form of x

  • The first number = 5x

  • The second number = 3x

These numbers are differ by 18 . So equation obtained,

➝ 5x - 3x = 18

➝ 2x = 18

➝ x =  \cancel{\dfrac{18}{2}}

x = 9

So, obtain our number putting value of x,

  • The first number = 5x = 5 × 9 = 45

  • The second number = 3x = 3 × 9 = 27
