Given:

Let the price of each books be RS. x

So, the no. of books purchased = 1200/x

Price of each book is increased by RS. 30

Number of books purchased = 1200/x+30

After increasing the price, he could by 2 books less

\begin{array}{l}\frac{1200}{x}-\frac{1200}{x+30}=2 \\\Rightarrow 1200(x+30-x)=2\left(x^{2}+30 x\right) \\\Rightarrow 18000=x^{2}+30 x \\\Rightarrow x^{2}+30 x-18000=0\end{array}

\begin{array}{l}\Rightarrow x^{2}+30 x-18000=0 \\\rightarrow x=\frac{-30 \pm 270}{2}=-150 \text { or } 120\end{array}

(1) Cost price of each books is 1200/x

(2) Price of each books after rise in price is 1200/x+300

(3)  The Quadratic equation is  x² +30x-18000=0

(4) Original price of each books is 120
