We are given  A vertical pole of length 1.5 m that stands in front of a tower of height 9 m casts a shadow 90 cm long on the ground

Length of small pole CE = 1.5 m

Shadow of that pole CD = 90 cm = 0.9 m

Now Length of tower AB = 9 m

The shadow of tower = BD

So, \frac{0.9}{1.5}=\frac{BD}{9}

\frac{0.9}{1.5}=\frac{BD}{9}

\frac{0.9}{1.5} \times 9=BD

5.4=BD

Distance between two poles is BC

BC = BD-CD= 5.4 - 0.9 = 4.5 m

Hence The distance between pole and tower is 4.5 m
