Answers:

  1. Cost of 8 kg of wheat = ₹ 48.8
  2. Amount of wheat purchased for ₹ 61 = 10 kg

Given:

  • Cost of 5 kg of wheat = ₹30.5

To Find:

  1. Cost of 8 kg of wheat = ??
  2. Amount of wheat purchased for ₹61 = ??

Solution:

1) Cost of 5 kg of wheat = ₹30.5

Cost of 1 kg of wheat =  ₹  \sf{\dfrac{30.5}{5}}

Cost of 8 kg of wheat = ₹ \left\{\sf{\dfrac{30.5}{5}\times 8}\right\}

                                    = ₹ {6.1 × 8}

                                    = ₹ 48.8

-----------------------------

2) Amount of wheat purchased for ₹ 30.50 = 5 kg

Amount of wheat purchased for ₹ 1 = \sf{\dfrac{5}{30.5}\;kg}

Amount of wheat purchased for ₹ 61 = \sf{ \left\{ \dfrac{5}{30.5}\times 61\right \}\;kg}

                                                             = {5 × 2} kg

                                                             = 10 kg
