I guess first take out the area of triangle

we can see it's a right angled triangle.

so area=1/2×b×h=>1/2×b×2

and if ab=6cm so ab=cd =6cm and so DF=6/2cm=3cm

so A = 1/2×3×2=3cm2

A of rectangle ABCD=l×b=6×3=18cm2

adding both areas we get area of shaded region=18+3=21cm2
