Given info : 25 gm of saturated solution of an organic compound is taken. the saturated solution is evaporated to dryness residue left in 2.8gm.

To find : the solubility of organic compound is...

solution : solubility of a solute in a solvent at any temperature is defined as the maximum amount of solute that can dissolve in 100g of solvent.

mathematically,

solubility = mass solute/mass solvent × 100

here mass of solute = 2.8gm

mass of solvent = 25g - 2.8g = 22.2g

so solubility = 2.8/22.2 × 100 = 12.6 %

Therefore the solubility of organic compound is 12.6 %
