Given: in a group of 120 persons 80 are Indians and

rest are foreigners

70 persons in the group can speak English.

To Find : the number of Indians who can speak English

(a) 20 (b) 30 (c) 30 or less (d) 30 or more

Solution:

Total Persons = 120

Indian = 80

Foreigners = 40

70 persons in the group can speak English.

if All  40 foreigners can speak English

Then

number of Indians who can speak English  = 70 - 40  = 30

if No foreigners can speak English

Number of Indians who can speak English = 70 - 0 = 70

Hence number of Indians who can speak English  are between 30 and 70.

Hence 30 or more is the correct options.

option d is correct
