25. ip x2 + 2 = 27, find the val
find the values of each of the following:
a) x + 1/x
b) x - 1/z

Hey MATE!!!

We first find out the valie of x from the given equation.

=> x^2 -2 = 27

=> x^2 = 27 - 2

=> x^2 = 25

=> x = 25

=> x = ±5.

Since, square of both +5 and -5 is 25 so we consider both values.

Now,

1)for \: x = 5 \\  \: x +  \frac{1}{x}  =  > 5 +  \frac{1}{5}  =  >  \frac{26}{5}  \\  \\ for \: x =  - 5 \\  \\ x +  \frac{1}{x}  =  >  - 5 +  \frac{ - 1}{5}  =  >  \frac{ - 26}{5}  \\  \\ 2) \: for \: x = 5 \\  \\ x -  \frac{1}{5}  =  >  \frac{24}{5}  \\  \\ and \: for \: x =  - 5 \\  \\ x -  \frac{1}{x}  =  >  \frac{ - 24}{5}
