Answer:

From a 20cm×15cm×10cm cuboid, how many cubes of edge 5cm can be formed? Divide each dimension by 5 and multiply the results together. 4 x 3 x 2 = 24 cubes of edge length 5 cm.

Answer :

d) 24

Given :

  • Edge of cube (s) = 5 cm
  • Length of cuboid (l) = 20 cm
  • Breadth of cuboid (b) = 15 cm
  • Height of cuboid (h) = 10 cm

To find :

  • Number of cubes to be formed

Solution :

Volume of one cube = (edge)³

= 5³

= 125 cm³ .

Volume of cuboid = Length × breadth × height

= 20 × 15 × 10

= 3000 cm³

Number of cubes = \tt \dfrac{Volume\ of\ cuboid}{Volume\ of\ each\ cube}

 \tt =  \dfrac{3000}{125}

= 24

\underline{\sf \therefore Number\ of\ cubes\ formed\ is\ 24}
