Let the width be x cm

and so length will be 3x cm

Now perimeter of rectangle=96 cm

Perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)

B.T.P,

2(x+3x)=96

=>2×4x=96

=>8x=96

=>x=96/8

x=12cm

Breadth=12cm

Length=(12×3)

=36cm

Let the width be x cm

Therefore, the length of the rectangle will be 3x

Perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l + b)

∴ 2(x + 3x) = 96

  4x = 96/2

   x = 48/4

   x = 12

Hence, the width of the rectangle is 12 cm and lenght is 3 x 12 = 36cm
