26.4 men and 6 boys can do a piece of work in 7 days while 6 men and 5 boys can
do it in 6 days. In how many days will 2 men and 4 boys finish double of the
work?

Solution :

7 men = Twice the boys = 7x2=14 boys

7 men and 4 boys do a job in 6 days

That means

(7 men + 4 boys)6=job

(14 boys+ 4 boys)6= job

18boys x 6 = job

108 boys = job

Therefore boys required for a job = 108 boys

If men are reduced to 5 then

5 men + 4 boys= 10 boys + 4 boys

= 14 boys

Now Days of completion will be 108/14

= 7.71 Days
