We know average velcity=total distance/total time

Let distance be x

So, for first velocity, time taken=x/5

and for the second velocity, time taken=x/10

now average velocity=x+x/(x/5+x/10)

=2x/(2x+x/10)

=2x/3x/10

=2x*10/3x

=20/3m/s

=6.66m/s
