Height of cylinder = 42dm

area of two circular faces of a right circular cylinder= 16 dm^2 (area of base and top)

Volume of cylinder =

V=πr2h and V=πr2

Now,

πr2 + πr2 = 166

2 × 22/7 × r2 = 166

r2 = 166 × 7/22 × 1/2....(i)

Now to find volume of the cylinder

22/7 × r2 × h = ?

putting the value of r2 of eq. 1

22/7 × 166 × 7/22 × 1/2 × 42

= 3487dm2

therefore volume of cylinder = 3487 dm2
