Question asked:

Calculate the pressure when a force of 200n is exerted on an area of

(i)270m²

(ii)5m²

Answer:

(i)  0.74P

(ii) 40P

Explanation:

force = area × pressure

area = force ÷ pressure

pressure = force ÷ area

Here, they have asked to find the pressure by giving the force and area

By applying the formula to find pressure(F ÷ A),

(i)

Force = 200N

Area = 270m²

Pressure = \frac{200}{270} = 0.74P

(ii)

Force = 200N

Area = 5m²

Pressure = \frac{200}{5} = 40P
