27. In an experiment to trace the path of a ray of light passing through a rectangular glass slab, angle of incidence in air was given as 600. Two students p and q found angle of refraction as 420 and 650 respectively. Who is right and why?

Student P is correct:

Since we know that the refracted ray is supposed to be closer to the NORMAL, we can prove that THE ANGLE OF INCIDENCE > than the THE ANGLE OF REFRACTION

Since angle i = 60°

and angle r = 42°

Thus understood
