LCM * HCF = Product of number

168 * 12 = x*y

x - y = 60

x + y = √(x-y)^2 - 4xy

x + y = √(60)^2 - 4 * 68 * 12

x + y = 108

hope it helped you

Answer:

The sum of  the two numbers is 108.

Step-by-step explanation:

Product of HCF and LCM of two numbers is equal to the product of the two numbers.

Let, the numbers are a and b.,

a.b = l. g

a x b = 168 x 12 = 2016  and

a - b = 60 ( Given )

( a + b )^2 = ( a - b )^2 + 4ab

                = (60 )^2 + 4 ( 2016 )

               =  3600 + 8064

              = 11664

( a + b ) = √ 11664

            = √2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3 x 3

            =2 x2 x 3 x 3 x 3

            =108

( a + b ) =  108

The sum of  the two numbers is 108.
