272 calories of heat energy is required to heat 0.02 kg of a metal of specific heat capacity 170 Cal kg^-1 °C^-1 to a temperature T. If the initial temperature of the metal is 20°C, calculate the final temperature T.

The temperature is T

Heat supplied to a metal =272 calories

Also,

Heat supplied = mcT

272 = 0.02 * 170 *T

T = 272

0.02*170

T = 272*10

3.4*10

T = 2720

T = 80

The final temperature of metal :

= 20 + 80

= 100
