SOLUTION :  

Let the number of children needed to complete the work in 30 days be x

Number of days      | 50 | 30 |

Number of children | 28 | x |  

The lesser the number of days to complete the work, the greater the number of children required.

So,It is a case of inverse variation.

Ratio of number of days =  inverse ratio of number of children

50 : 30  :: x : 28

50 × 28 = 30 × x

x = 50 × 28 /30

x = 140/3 = 46.66

x = 46.66 ≈ 47 (approximate)

Hence, the number of children needed to complete the work in 30 days = 47(approximate).
