Abnormal curvature in the spine can put it out of alignment. Abnormal curvature seen from the side is called sagittal imbalance. Types of sagittal imbalance include kyphosis, flatback syndrome, and chin-on-chest syndrome. Abnormal curvature of the spine seen from the back is called scoliosis.

• Lordosis. A person with lordosis, often known as swayback, has a markedly inward-curving lower back.
• Kyphosis. A back that is unusually rounded is known as kyphosis (more than 50 degrees of curvature).
• Scoliosis.
• There are numerous causes of spinal abnormalities, such as congenital defects, ageing and degeneration, and trauma.
• Scoliosis causes: This kind of malformation develops as a result of an illness or injury. It might be caused by the muscles in one side of the spine becoming weaker while those in the other side becoming stronger. It can also happen when people adopt incorrect sitting postures when studying or writing at a desk.
• The spinal column naturally has four curvature. the curvature of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine. The intervertebral discs and the curves work together to absorb and distribute pressures brought on by both routine movements like walking and more strenuous ones like running and jumping.
