Table is usually made of wood or steel but majorly it is made of wood so I will talk about a wooden table over here
So when we try too hit the table with our fist we will hear a sound which is mainly caused by vibration but under this force the table either breaks or tends to maintain its shape. These are the properties of solids which is that the solid under the application of force either breaks or tends to maintain its original shape as the molecules are closely packed to other. Also the table doesn’t change its shape which is also another property of solids. And it has a definite shape and size in room temperature.
