Explanation:

28 g Nitrogen mean 1 mole Nitrogen gas

12 g Hydrogen mean 6 mole hydrogen gas

We know:: 1 N2 +3 (H2) »»»»» 2 NH3

From stoichiometry 1 mole Nitrogen required 3 mole H2 to form 2 mole ammonia

After reaction of our 1 mole N2 reacts with 3 mole hydrogen so, From 6 mole H2 3 mole H2 remain unreacted. So H2 is excessary reagent and Nitrogen is limiting reagent.

Hope you understand it.
