GIVEN :- A poster, whose length and breadth are in the ratio 3:2, needs to be framed. A frame fitting the poster exactly is bought. When the width of the frame is increased by 25%, it measures 15 cm . What is the length of the poster ?

Answer :-

Let width or the frame is x cm .

so,

→ x + 25% of x = 15cm

→ 1.25x = 15

→ x = 12 cm .

now, Let length and breadth of the poster are 3y and 2y cm .

since frame fitting the poster exactly .

then,

→ Breadth of poster = Breadth of frame

→ 2y = 12

→ y = 6 .

therefore,

→ Length of the poster = 3y = 3 * 6 = 18 cm (Ans.)
