29. Chaitali got 320 shares of a company of face value * 10, at a market price of
120 each. After 3 months, she received dividend at 40%. After 6 months,
she sold the shares at a market price of 160. She paid brokerage at 0.4% for
both transactions. Find her net gain.
Ans. *13,721.6
Hint: Actual purchase price/share = 120 x 1.004 = 120.48, so total purchase
amount = 120.48 x 320 = 38,553.6, dividend = 40% * 10 320 = 1,280,
sales price / share = 160 x 0.996 = 159.36, total sales 159.36 x 320 =
50,995.2, net gain = 50,995.2 + 1280 - 38,553.6 = 13,721.6
